You all make me smile

A few days ago, I walked around with a big smile of gratitude after Kate in the Kitchen honoured me with a ‘You Make Me Smile Award’. I was delighted to receive this award, because it brings me much enjoyment to share my thoughts and my daily life here with everyone who reads my blog. Knowing that I’ve made someone smile is a good feeling!

I could just as easily turn around and give this award to Kate. She wrote some wonderful words about me that brought tears of happiness to my eyes. Kate’s blog is one of the first I ever read and I continue to read it regularly. I like to imagine making and serving her recipes and I love the way Kate is able to weave snippets from her life into her posts.

I can’t even begin to decide who I can give this award to because I would have to give it to most everyone whose blogsI read regularly. The blogging world is a wonderful, fascinating and inclusive place and I thank my lucky stars for having started reading blogs about a year ago. I have met many people virtually who I would love to meet in person some day. One can always dream!

So I’d like to pass on this award to all of you who brighten my day with your blog posts and your comments on my blog!

    You’re a well-deserving recipient of this award, Kate–you make ME smile on a regular basis, too, and of course your sense of colour and fun is a good part of that. Well done!

    I can certainly understand why you received this award, Kate! I thoroughly enjoy coming to visit your blog and if you didn’t make me smile, I doubt I’d return, so there ya go. Keep on doing what you do best! 🙂

    Hi Kate, I wanted to let you know that I made your oatmeal bar recipe from a few posts back, and they were delicious. However, since it turned out I did not have the brown sugar, I used a little bit of white with some molasses. And instead of eating them as cookies, I’v been using them as cereal. I put some in a bowl, heat it in the microwave for 30 seconds, then add raspberries and half and half. The half and half mixes with the warm “cereal” , melting the molasses and making a sweet light brown cream. Delicious. Thanks so much! I now have a new and easy morning treat.

    Hey Kate- I’m glad the award made you smile! That’s the whole point.Even with a terribly chilly day outside, it warms me to come to your lovely violet hued blog, see your pictures and read your posts. Your creativity is envious; mine is all food related, and oh, how I wish I was crafty and capable in other areas!The Grey Cup win sounds so exciting! Congrats to your team! That appears to be the Canadian version of the Super Bowl, hmm?
